Investing in Belize, One Scholar at a Time

BELIZE CITY, Belize — Sixteen children of Bowen & Bowen employees received scholarships this past weekend at the Company's 12th Annual Scholarship Award Presentation Ceremony. The programme has now channelled more than one million dollars into education, covering tuition, books, and school fees for students entering secondary, tertiary, and vocational studies.

For President & CEO Michael H. M. Bowen, the figure is not the point. “We're all part of a community, whether you're inside Bowen & Bowen or just inside Belize,” he told reporters at the ceremony. “And we all have to support each other, but we all have to invest in Belize. And education is a great resource to do that… It creates choice. Choice of your career, choice of where you work, and choices overall.”

Star Scholar, Dwayne Belgrave

Scholar Dwayne Belgrave received special recognition and was named Star Scholar as the top performer among this year's graduating class, finishing at St. John's College with a GPA of 4.25.

Eligibility is open to children of Bowen & Bowen employees who show strong academic potential, and families must submit an application demonstrating real commitment to the student's education.

Support continues beyond the cheque: the Company's Human Resources team pairs every recipient with a mentor.

The ceremony closed with a group photo alongside the CEO, and lunch and fun activities at Di Bruwry.
